"I am 39 years old. I am an Aries. My favorite color is purple. I have 2 children whom I love and adore. I am a social butterfly and I have a free spirit but, I am also shy and very private. I love to travel. I love to shop online (it's starting to become a problem) I'm a gymrat so, I'm always working out. I am also a girly girl so I love high heels and getting dolled up."
Please continue to read to learn a lil about this amazing and inspiring yogi!
January 2015 will make it 2 years.
Do you attend classes or are you self-taught?
I attended and still attend yoga classes at L.A. Fitness.
What started you on this path?
I went to my first yoga session wanting to learn how to stretch and relieve stress. After the first session, I discovered that yoga was more than stretching but more about mind and body. I was hooked after that!
What type of yoga do you practice?
Ashtanga, Hatha and Restorative.
How often do you get on the mat?
I practice everyday and everywhere. I wear my mat.
What has yoga taught you?
What I have learned from my practice is deeper than landing a posture. I applied the deeper philosophy of yoga in other aspects of my life such as the workplace, relationships, etc.
Yoga has to do with transformation...transforming the mind and body.

What do you say to people who says yoga is not for everyone?
If you can breathe, you can practice yoga. Too many people think yoga is intimidating. There is a misperception of one must be thin, flexible, and strong in order to practice yoga. Although the advanced asanas do require more flexibility and strength, each posture has a simple variation that is attainable to most people.
I simply say if you can find your tadasana your practice has been born. Always remember to breathe. Focus on the breath and you may find a sense of inner peace and solitude. Connecting to that feeling is what some people need most. The beauty part is we always have the breath.

What would you like to share to those starting a yoga journey?
Honor and listen to your body. Yoga is about self love. Practice regularly. Leave the egos at the door. Focus on the breath and clear your mind. Allow your awareness to penetrate from within. The benefits of your practice will come. It's an amazing journey so enjoy every moment!
